Nevada phlebotomy license rules: Laboratory assistant certificate
Nevada certifies laboratory assistants, and a national phlebotomy certification is one way to qualify. Ask the employer or the Division of Public and Behavioral Health whether your job needs the certificate.
Issued by the Nevada Division of Public and Behavioral Health. Checked against the source on Nov 4, 2026.
What you need
Have a high school diploma or GED.
Qualify one of three ways: a national phlebotomy certification from an approved organization (the rule names AMT, ASCP, ACA, NCCT, NHA and the National Phlebotomy Association), 6 months of Division-approved training, or at least 30 hours a week for 3 of the last 5 years in a qualifying lab.
Rules change. Confirm the details with the issuer before you pay for training or an exam: Nevada Administrative Code, chapter 652 (NAC 652.4855), Nevada Legislature.
